- 2:30-3:30pm – Dharma Talk and Meditation with senior IMCW teacher Jonathan Foust (2nd floor, Josephine Butler Parks Center)
- 3:30-5:00pm- Our core practice of 108 Sun Salutations with beloved DC teachers Leah Barr, Colin Brightfield, Angela Cerkevich, HawaH, Jessica Lazar, Greg Marzullo, and Alex Paraskevas (Josephine Butler Parks Center)
*Note: If you are joining for the core practice and not the dharma talk, please arrive and check in at the registration table in the lobby of the JB Center between 2:30 and 3pm
This year, all proceeds will support the work of Anahata Grace, a Washington DC-based nonprofit that works to share the physical and mental health benefits of yoga and holistic wellness services to individuals in need.
Composed of 108 beads, the mala is symbolic of the prayer for peace, hope and charity. This annual event is offered in conjunction with worldwide celebrations of the Global Mala project in over 50 countries, uniting the global yoga community from every continent, school and approach to form a “mala around the earth” through collective practices based upon the sacred cycle of 108. Our intention is to join thousands of planetary rituals that are raising consciousness around the Fall Equinox and UN International Peace Day, and this year a decade of healing since the tragic events of September 11, 2001.
