Angela Cerkevich is founder of Anahata International and is currently serving on the Board of Anahata Grace and the Clinical Advisory Committee. She specializes in yoga as therapy in the Washington DC area with particular interest in undeserved populations and those affected by violent conflict. After leading the first yoga teacher training in Rwanda in September of 2007, she created Anahata International to build a self sustaining model using yoga for healing and social change on an international scale. She actively seeks and build relationships with other NGOs to further expand the scope and effects of Anahata’s programming.

Radhika Thakkar-Board Member
Radhika was drawn to yoga almost ten years ago when she realized the profound impact a yoga practice can have on enhancing personal health, connectedness to others and overall productivity. Her current career in healthcare consulting is balanced by a regular personal practice and the gift of teaching to Washington DC yogis at Flow Yoga Center. Radhika saw an opportunity to combine her passions for international development, social change, yoga and organizational development when good friend, Angela Cerkevich launched Anahata International. She quickly got involved in developing the programatic strategy for Anahata International, helped Angela expand her work in Rwanda and continues to help drive the growth and success of the organization.
Jessica Hubley-Board Member
Jessica, a DC lawyer and yoga instructor, is Anahata International’s legal advisor and secretary. After traveling to Africa in 2007, Jessica was intrigued by the idea of how to bring the wonderful healing and health benefits of yoga to more diverse areas of the world. When she heard about the newly formed Anahata International, she immediately jumped on board and loves working behind the scenes to help Anahata International fulfill its mission of using yoga to improve the health and well being of people affected by conflict and trauma. Besides yoga, Jessica enjoys running, tennis, biking, mountain climbing/hiking, music and writing.
Ian Mishalove -Board Member
The focus of Ian’s professional life has been moving people to nurture the wellbeing of our planet and life on it. He currently serves as the Director of Flow for Flow Yoga Center, which he co-owns with his wife Debra. There, he ensures operations run smoothly for the bustling Flow community. Prior to that, Ian worked for 12 years directing online communications departments and mobilizing activists for the Campaign for America’s Future and the National Wildlife Federation. Ian received an M.E.S from Yale’s School of Environment and a BA from Princeton, and in both places focused on how to empower progressive social movement networks – esp. through online technology. Outside of yoga and activism, Ian spends as much time as possibly playing (mostly in the great outdoors) with friends and family.
