Finding Grace is committed to supporting those that are working on the front lines of poverty and welfare issues in the U.S.  and veterans.  We provide retreats for service providers and veterans to help rejuvenate and help heal the scars of trauma.

Veterans:

Coming home from war leaves both physical and emotional scars.  As we hear in the news on a regular basis, our veterans are returning stateside with the war still stored in their emotional bones often expressed through Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Wellness therapy that works with the body as well as the mind is an important component to successfully dealing with PTSD.

Benefits of holistic services for wounded warriors:

  • provides tools for dealing with anxiety and insomnia
  • fosters breath awareness and mindfulness
  • releases the trauma stored in the physical body as well as the mind

Current Programs

  • We are providing twice a year Troop Retreats where, at no cost to the veterans, our team of trauma therapists spend 3 days with up to 12 veterans helping them to heal from the trauma experienced in war.  To read a description of the first Troop Retreat, click here.

Service Providers:

Committing yourself to serve others is not an easy occupation.  Often times, case managers and other service providers working directly with vulnerable communities experience vicarious trauma.  While attention is paid to caring for these vulnerable populations, often times those offering their time, heart, and energy to help others heal forget to take care of themselves in the process.

This can lead to high rates of burnout which does not serve the individual or the people they help in a sustainable fashion.

Benefits of holistic services for service providers:

  • provides tools for dealing with anxiety
  • fosters breath awareness and mindfulness
  • increases mind/body awareness
  • provides wellness tools to be used with their clients

Current Programs

  • We are providing twice a year Front-Line Workers Retreats where, at no cost to the service providers, they spend 3 days of restoration through meditation, hikes, healthy eating, yoga, and bodywork.
