International Campaign: Anahata International
2010 Fellowship | Rwanda Project | Seed Grants | Get Involved
Anahata International is dedicated to bringing yoga to post-conflict communities to promote healing and social change.
How do we do this?
- We pursue this goal by training new teachers in their home countries and facilitating their development of self-sustaining programs. Our organization provides self-care and wellness programs to compliment health education and vocational training provided by other organizations.
- We focus on offering trauma sensitive yoga as a tool for individuals to reconnect to their communities and their inner strength and equanimity. By training local instructors we aim to empower young leaders and connect them to the cross-cultural exchange of an expanding global yoga community.
Anahata International’s History:
In September 2007 when Angela Cerkevich worked with Never Again Rwanda to organize a yoga teacher training in Kigali. For more information about the work in Rwanda, click here.
While the work in Rwanda continues to have a ripple effect of healing, we are moving forward with the 2010 Fellowship program to reach out to new post-conflict countries. We are currently accepting applications and encourage you to apply if you are a Registered Yoga Teacher with connections abroad.
